The Middletown Sports Club was originally created in 1973 to support and provide funding to all Middletown High School athletic programs. Historically, the Sports Club has always provided uniforms, safety and performance equipment, and other resources allowing athletes to provide at a high level of excellence.
The Sports Club sponsor all youth camps, any raffle or fundraiser, and manage all bank accounts and financial transactions. The Club also provides insurance for all athletes and coaches. MHSSC is comprised of volunteers with an Executive Board and Board of Directors.
More recently, the Sports Club has spearheaded major projects leading to upgrades for indoor and outdoor sports. Some of these projects consist of

- 100% of the upgrades to the stadium including 2 new sets of lights, scoreboard, audio system, and additional jump pits for track
- renovation of the gym including floor and bleachers
- new scoreboards for softball and field hockey, wrestling and cheerleading mats, tennis nets, and baseball dugouts
- subsidizes winter and summer TrueAP training
- provides pep buses for teams traveling to state championship games
